FAQ's
1. Can I edit my gear reservation after I’ve created it?
a. Yes! If the reservation hasn’t been approved, you can still edit it in Patron Portal. If the reservation has been approved, you can email the Camera Vault with your edit requests.
2. I have a hold on my Webcheckout account, how can I remove it?
a. Please contact the manager of the equipment center who issued the hold to inquire about next steps.
3. What if I’m going to be late for my reservation pickup or return?
a. In both cases, please email or call the Camera Vault to notify us of your late arrival. You must arrive no later than 4:00 PM if picking up an advanced camera package.
b. Per SCA policy, any late equipment return is considered a violation and the student whose name is tied to the reservation is subject to receiving a hold on their Webcheckout account.
4. What if I damage or lose a piece of equipment?
a. Please contact the Camera Vault about the damage or loss as soon as possible and provide a detailed explanation about the incident.
5. Patron Portal is giving me an error that is preventing me from creating a reservation. What to do?
a. Email the Camera Vault with a detailed explanation of the error. It’s helpful to include screenshots of the problem.
6. Can I pick up and/or return equipment on Saturday?
a. No, the Vault does not allow Saturday pickups or returns.
7. If I’m shooting on DePaul’s sound stage, can I pick up my camera reservation in the morning and return in the afternoon?
a. Potentially. Please reach-out to the Camera Vault Coordinator to discuss your project’s equipment needs.
8. Can someone else pick up and return my gear reservation?
a. If the reservation is under your name, you must be present during the pickup to sign for the equipment. However, another project member can return the equipment.
9. Can I check-out additional equipment after I pick up my equipment?
a. No, the Vault does not allow edits to a checkout.
10. Does the Vault have any film cameras?
a. Yes, we have the Arriflex 535, but it’s only available to practice with. The camera cannot be used for a film shoot.
