Entry to Cinespace

  • Students riding the DePaul Cinespace shuttle bus will have entry to the studios via the university shuttle.

  • Security requires all visitors outside of the university shuttle bus to be listed at the security gates at least two business days prior to arrival by car or on foot.

Gate Access

Who needs gate access?

  • If you have never visited DePaul's Cinespace campus you will need to obtain gate entry access.

  • Students doing equipment pick ups and drop offs that do not have a Cinespace assigned ID.

  • Cast and crew for every student or faculty production.

Who do I reach out to for gate access?

  • For filming projects outside of the classroom (projects going through the Production Office Greenlighting), see the instructions for Cinespace Security List on SCA Central (D2L)—> Info/Equipment/Forms—>Cinespace Security List.

  • For all other gate access, email Jelani Hardy at [email protected].

How early should I email, what do I email?

  • At least two business days prior to Equipment pickup date, the sooner the better!

  • All student productions with a Cinespace stage reservation must email the Cinespace Security List (SCA Central (D2L)—> Info/Equipment/Forms—>Cinespace Security List) using the provided template and following the template instructions carefully

Note: The Cinespace Security List template may contain the same information as your cast & crew list, but you must use this template provided by Cinespace Film Studios Chicago to follow their film lot system requirements.

Where do I go to check in with security when I arrive at Cinespace?

  • Visitors must check in at the Cinespace Studios Chicago Welcome Center located next to Gate 1, at the intersection of Rockwell St. and 15th St. off Ogden.

  • Visitors will then be issued a pass to enter the DePaul Cinespace Studios campus.

  • Visitors experiencing issues at the security gate upon arrival should first contact their project owner, producer or additional point of contact for assistance, rather than contacting DePaul University staff or faculty. Filmmakers, please add this note to your call sheet for your cast & crew to use when needed.

I'm part of a prospective student tour, do I need gate access?

  • Nope! Your tour will include gate access to Cinespace.

Parking at Cinespace

Can I drive to Cinespace?

  • Yes! DePaul has two parking lots available at Cinespace for students, faculty, staff, & visitors.

Which are the DePaul parking lots?

  • Lot C, located on the lower level

Do I need a parking pass?

  • That you do! All visitors must display a parking pass on their dashboard. Passes are available at the entrance of either parking lot or in the stage assistant's office, located next to classroom 101 on the first floor.
