Advanced Camera Certifications

Advanced Camera Certifications:

There are 2 routes available to students who wish to get certified on the Camera Vault’s advanced cameras.

Option 1

Take FILM 358: Camera Workshop.

Students must have completed FILM 150 or 250 before enrolling in this class. Students who pass the class will become certified on all the advanced cameras covered.

Option 2

Individual Testing with Camera Vault staff:

Students must first test on a Tier 1 camera before being eligible to test on all other advanced cameras. It is recommended that students unfamiliar with the camera first schedule a practice session. To schedule a practice or test session, please email the Camera Vault at [email protected].

a. Tier 1 Cameras: Canon C300 Mark II, RED EPIC and RED EPIC-W.

b. Practice & Test Times:

i. At the Vault on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 4 PM.

ii. With Alex Sherman on Saturdays. Please contact Alex directly to

schedule a session with him at [email protected].

c. About the Test: Students have 1 hour to complete the test. This includes building the camera with all its accessories, balancing the fluid head, and navigating the camera’s settings.
