FAQs
I missed the shuttle, can I get to Cinespace any other way?
Yes! You can take the the pink line train to the Western stop or take the CTA bus #49 to the Western and 16th stop.
I'm not sure if the shuttle left from where I am, how can I check if I missed it?
Not to worry you can track the shuttle locations by visiting the links below.
I have a DePaul ID, do I also need a Cinespace ID?
Indeed! You need both IDs if you are planning on being at the DePaul Cinespace campus.
Your DePaul ID will give you classroom door access and your Cinespace ID will give you exterior door access to enter the building.
I'm planning on driving to Cinespace. Can I park there?
Absolutely! Students, staff, faculty, and visitors can park in either lot J or C. Make sure to put a yellow parking slip on your dashboard so security knows that the vehicle belongs to someone in the DePaul community.
Parking slips are located in three locations, near each parking lot door and in the Stage Assistants office. If you can't find any parking slips or notice that we are running low, please email Val at [email protected] and let her know there are no parking slips available.
I think I left something behind on one of the shuttles, how can I check if I did?
To check if you might have left something on one of the shuttles please email Val at [email protected] with your name, shuttle you took, the time you took the shuttle, and what the item/s you left behind are. Our shuttle drives do sweeps after each run so we will try our best to help you out! ☺️
I want to film in one of the DePaul Cinespace parking lots or common areas, who do I reach out to?
The point of contact for any exterior or common areas spaces (bathrooms, den, etc.) is Jelani Hardy.
Please email Jelani at [email protected] at least two business days prior to your shoot day. Remember sooner is always better than later as sometimes these spaces will not be available for a variety of reasons.
Unauthorized use of spaces will be subject to account holds.
I am filming multiple days at Cinespace, do I need to send a visitor template for each day to allow entry to my crew and cast?
When sending you cast and crew visitor list make sure to include the dates and time frame that you will be filming. Val will then apply the visitor template to the dates included in your email in the security system.
My cast and crew has changed since I last sent my visitor list, how can I update it so my cast and crew can enter Cinespace?
No worries! Changes happen all the time. If your cast and crew visitor list has changed, all you need to do is update the template with names removed/added and resend the completely updated list to Val at [email protected]. Be sure to let her know that the visitor list has been updated.
Make sure to not modify the template! Apply the template format before you send it off to Val, as modified templates will cause a delay in how they are uploaded, potentially delaying your shoot.
My shoot dates have change, can I update the dates for my cast and crew visitor list after having sent it?
Totally! Just email Val at [email protected] with your new dates along with your cast and crew visitor list.
I'm not sure if my cast and crew visitor list is good to go, how can I check?
Val will email you back once you are all set. If you do not hear back within two business days of sending your list, check in with Val.
REMEMBER! - Sending your list ahead of time, even if it isn't complete, is better than sending it too late and having no gate access for your cast and crew.
I'm picking up equipment from Cinespace via a vehicle from the Camera Vault or the Shack, how can I make sure I get gate access?
Please email Val at [email protected] at least two business days from when you have scheduled your gear pick up or drop off.
Make sure to include the date and time frame you plan on picking up or dropping off your equipment as well as the names of anyone else coming along to do the pick up/drop off with you.
I lost my Cinespace ID, can I get a new one?
Uh oh! Yes, you can get a new one. Please email Val at [email protected] as soon as you realize you have misplaced your ID.
IDs can be picked up at Val's office located on the second floor, office # 207 during office hours. IDs are available for pick up at the Stage Assistants office located near classroom 101 after office hours.
Are there any places nearby to grab a bite to eat or vending machines?
Yes! Cinespace has Beatrix located in the breezeway of the center building, where the DePaul Cinespace stages are.
Beatrix is open Monday through Friday from 9am-2pm. DePaul Cinespace also has two vending machines, one with snacks and one with drinks.
I have a question about my production paperwork, is there anyone from the production office at Cinespace that can help me out?
Absolutely! The production office has an office located down the hall from classroom 101 on the first floor. Their hours are 10-5PM from Monday - Friday.
Does DePaul Cinespace have a lost and found?
We do! It is located off the breezeway entrance of Stage 22. Items such as wallets will be delivered to Val for safe keeping. Please email her at [email protected] to check if she has received it. If she has, she will coordinate a time for you to pick it up.
