The SCA Production Office

The SCA Production Office is the primary resource for student filmmaking at the School of Cinematic Arts.

Contact the Production Office if you have questions about:

  • Starting a project

  • Greenlighting

  • Production paperwork

  • Smartsheet & Dynamic View

  • Locations, permits, and insurance

  • Equipment and facility eligibility

  • Production policies

  • Project changes or reshoots

  • General production support

SCA Central

SCA Central is the School of Cinematic Arts information hub in D2L. All SCA students are automatically enrolled and should bookmark it for future use.

Resources may include:

  • Production paperwork and templates

  • Production announcements

  • Crew Calls

  • Film Crew Directory

  • Equipment and stage information

  • Patron Portal access

  • Intimacy training resources

  • Actor Database

  • The Well screenplay database

  • Student jobs and freelance opportunities

If you do not see SCA Central in D2L, contact the Production Office or the DePaul Help Desk.

SCA Production Training

SCA Production Training is required annually for students participating in SCA film projects.

Complete training before using SCA equipment, stages, or production facilities.

Additional certifications may be required for specific equipment or facilities.

Safety & Incident Reporting

Everyone participating in an SCA production is responsible for their own safety and the safety of others. If a condition, activity, or instruction appears unsafe, stop and raise the concern.

Emergency

For immediate danger, serious injury, illness, or fire:

  1. Call 911

  2. Contact DePaul Public Safety

  3. Notify the Production Office as soon as possible

Non-Emergency Safety Concerns

Report a CDM or SCA Issue

Use the CDM ServiceNow to report:

  • Equipment issues

  • Equipment facility and Stage issues

  • Patron Portal problems

  • Production-related concerns

  • Technical support requests

  • Shuttle issues

When submitting a request, include:

  • Location of Issue

  • DePaul email address

  • Project title or number (if applicable)

  • Location

  • Date and time

  • Description of the issue

  • Relevant screenshots or photos

Request an SCA Appeal

If you need an exception to an SCA production policy, procedure, deadline, or requirement, review the SCA Appeals Process.

Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Please explain:

  • The request

  • Relevant circumstances

  • Proposed solution

  • Supporting documentation

Submitting an appeal does not automatically pause a deadline or authorize an activity.
