# Report a Concern / Safety Hotline

### Report Safety Concerns, Incidents, or Emergencies

Everyone participating in an SCA production is responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.

If you witness an injury, accident, unsafe condition, harassment, discrimination, or other concern related to an SCA production, report it as soon as possible.

Students may stop or opt out of any activity they believe is unsafe.

<summary><strong>Emergency</strong></summary>

For immediate danger, serious injury, illness, fire, or another emergency:

1. Call **911**
2. Contact DePaul Public Safety
   * **Lincoln Park:** (773) 325-7777

3. Notify the Producer, 1st AD, faculty member, or SCA staff member when it is safe to do so.
4. Notify the SCA Production Office as soon as possible.

If applicable, follow any additional reporting procedures required by a location, permit authority, public agency, or university office.

<summary><strong>Non-Emergency Safety Concerns</strong></summary>

Everyone on set is responsible for helping maintain a safe and respectful production environment.

If you see something unsafe, say something.

Students may stop or opt out of activities they believe are unsafe.

#### Recommended Reporting Path

1. Assistant Director (AD) and/or Producer
2. Production Office
3. SCA faculty or staff
4. Safety Hotline

If you are uncomfortable speaking with someone involved in the production, you may skip steps and contact the Production Office, SCA faculty, staff, or the Safety Hotline directly.

Information may be shared anonymously.&#x20;

When in doubt, stop the activity and ask for guidance before proceeding.

The Safety Hotline may be used to report:

* Unsafe conduct on set
* Ignored safety protocols
* Harassment concerns
* Discrimination concerns
* Inappropriate conduct
* Safety concerns that were not addressed through normal production channels

The Safety Hotline is a voicemail box, not a live emergency service.

Messages are typically reviewed within 48-72 hours.

**Do not use the Safety Hotline for emergencies.** For immediate danger or medical emergencies, call **911** first.

<summary><strong>Reporting Injuries, Incidents, or Property Damage</strong></summary>

Report injuries, accidents, property damage, lost or stolen equipment, unsafe conditions, and policy violations as soon as possible.

For Greenlighting Projects, incidents may also need to be documented through project reporting requirements and submitted to the Production Office.

Prompt reporting helps protect participants, preserve information, and prevent additional damage or safety concerns.
