# Vault Reservations & Policies

Gear use is prioritized first for scheduled courses and then for MFA students working on Thesis Films. While staff can deny or cancel a reservation if needed, we do our best to make gear accessible to all students.

<summary><strong>Equipment Reservations</strong></summary>

* All gear reservations must be made **online via the** [**Patron Portal**](https://cdmwebcheckout.cdm.depaul.edu/patron).
* **Exception:** Camera practice or certification sessions can be reserved by **emailing the Camera Vault**.

<summary><strong>Equipment Cancellations</strong></summary>

* Cancel at least **one business day before your scheduled pickup**.
* Cancellations can be done via the [**Patron Portal**](https://cdmwebcheckout.cdm.depaul.edu/patron)**, email, or phone**.

<summary><strong>Camera and Lens Packages</strong></summary>

* Students may check out **1 camera and 1 lens package per project**.
* You **cannot** check out a camera or lens package from both the Vault and the Cage for the same project.
* **PL lens packages** can only go out with an **advanced camera package**, but advanced cameras can be checked out **without a PL lens package**.

<summary><strong>Camera Accessories</strong></summary>

* Advanced accessories (e.g., Cine 7, Teradek Bolt XT 500, ARRI WCU-4) **require an advanced camera package**.
* Be careful when using **non-DePaul accessories a**s compatibility isn’t guaranteed and improper use may damage equipment.

<summary><strong>Violations</strong></summary>

* Repeated rule violations including **unclaimed/unused reservations, late returns, or damaged equipment** may lead to disciplinary action by CDM Staff or Faculty.
* These rules ensure **accountability and fair access** for all students.
