Can I edit my gear reservation after I’ve created it?
Yes! If your reservation hasn’t been approved yet, you can make changes right in Patron Portal. Already approved? No problem. Just email us your edits and we’ll help you out.
I have a hold on my Webcheckout account. How do I get it removed?
Reach out to the manager who placed the hold. They will guide you through the steps to clear it.
What if I’m running late for my pickup or return?
Give us a heads-up by email or phone. If you’re picking up an advanced camera package, try to arrive by 4:00 PM at the latest.
Friendly reminder: Late returns are considered a policy violation and could result in a hold on your Webcheckout account.
What if I damage or lose a piece of equipment?
Contact the Camera Vault as soon as possible and let us know what happened. We will work with you to figure out the next steps.
Patron Portal is giving me an error when I try to make a reservation. What should I do?
Email us a description of the issue. If you can, include a screenshot. It helps us troubleshoot faster.
Can I pick up or return equipment on Saturday?
Unfortunately, no. The Vault is closed on Saturdays.
If I’m shooting on DePaul’s sound stage, can I pick up gear in the morning and return in the afternoon?
Possibly! Reach out to the Camera Vault Coordinator to discuss your project, and we’ll see what we can do.
Can someone else pick up or return my gear reservation?
You need to pick up and sign for the gear in person if the reservation is under your name. Another project member can return it.
Can I check out extra gear after I’ve already picked up my reservation?
Sorry, no. Once your reservation is picked up, it can’t be changed, so plan ahead.
Does the Vault have any film cameras?
Yes! We have the Arriflex 535 available for practice only, not for actual film shoots.
